Full Level Provider:
- Possess the minimum of a Masters degree in an appropriate behavioral health or human service discipline.
- Possess current state and/or national certifications and/or licenses required to practice independently in the state of Indiana.
- Have completed 500 hours of direct work with sex offenders.
- Have at least 20 clock-hours (or equivalent Continuing Education credits) of demonstrable formal training specific to sex offender assessment and treatment.
- Maintain active membership with the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA).
- Comply with the ATSA Code of Ethics.
- Comply with the INSOMM Program quality and performance standards.
- Carry liability insurance.
- Pass a criminal background check.
Associate Level Provider
An Associate Provider is an INSOMM clinician who has a minimum of experience in the assessment and treatment of sexual offenders, and requires more supervised experience to raise his/her level of expertise. Associate providers are approved on a case-by-case basis for the INSOMM Program Executive Director. An associate provider candidate must meet the following minimum requirements.
- Possess the minimum of a Master’s Degree in an appropriate behavioral health or human service discipline.
- Be eligible for or possess current state and /or national certifications and/or licenses required to practice independently in the state of Indiana.
- Have completed 250 hours of direct work with sexual offenders.
- Have at least 20 clock-hours (or equivalent Continuing Education credits) of demonstrable formal training specific to sex offender assessment and treatment.
- Have the capacity to provide services to sex offenders within the bounds of an established supervisory relationship with an approved Full provider, with a minimum of two hours of face-to-face supervision per month.
- Maintain active membership with the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA).
- Comply with the ATSA Code of Ethic
- Carry liability insurance.
- Pass a criminal background check.
Polygraph Examiner Credentialing Requirements
The credentialing requirements for individual INSOMM Program polygraph examiners are as follows:
- Have successfully completed an American Polygraph Association accredited, or equivalent, Polygraph Examination Training Course and Certification as specified by Indiana Code 25-30-2.
- Have successfully completed an American Polygraph Association accredited, or equivalent, forty-hour certification course and examination specific to Clinical Polygraphic Examination of sex offenders.
- Comply with all ethical and technical standards as prescribed by the American Polygraph Association (APA), the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers (ATSA), and The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
- Successfully complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years. Subjects may include Clinical Polygraphic Examination procedures, behavior and motivation of sex offenders, trauma factors and sexual assault issues associated with victims/survivors.
- Carry Polygraph examiner liability insurance.
- Pass a criminal background check.
